About the IMIRP
Designed for undergraduate students, and college students interested in exploring the countless career options available options in the medical and health fields. Participants will gain real-world medical career experience at a variety of sessions including cutting edge diagnostics technologies, real-life simulated surgical procedures, hand-on procedures, true-to-life simulations and discussions with medical experts. |
At the end of the program, each candidate will receive an official AEXA certificate during the graduation ceremony.

The Methodist Hospital Research Insitute
Participants will interact with multi-million dollar equipment at The Houston Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation & Education (MITIE). This innovative, virtual hospital and hands-on clinical training facility, is for health care professionals seeking to maintain excellent procedural skills and acquire new provinces. UT Health Science Center - Houston: Tour the Medical School (including training labs, cadaver labs, etc) and immerse yourself in the life of a medical student as they check your group's vital signs, suture a wound, work on a life-like mannequin or observe medical science technologies. Get tips on applying for medical school from a faculty member at the UT Health Science Center. |
Baylor College of Medicine School of Allied Health Sciences
Tour the Orthotics and Prosthetics Program lab at Baylor College of Medicine School of Allied Health Sciences: Get fitted with futuristic-looking, all-carbon-fiber ankle/foot orthoses and practice controlling a prosthetic arm. See the team of experts working on a complete casting for a custom device in real-time. BEN TAUB HOSPITAL:
Located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, Ben Taub Hospital has garnered respect both locally and worldwide as an outstanding acute care facility and an elite Level I trauma center. This 444 licensed-bed hospital houses the Ginni and Richard Mithoff Trauma Center, which cares for more than 80,000 emergency patients each year and is known to save the lives of some of the most critically injured. |
Galveston National Lab
It is a sophisticated high containment research facility that serves as a critically important resource in the global fight against infectious diseases. The lab’s top priority is research to develop diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines to combat the most dangerous diseases in the world. The GNL is an anchor lab of the NIAID Biodefense Laboratory Network. The GNL is one of only two National Laboratories with Biosafety Level 4 (BSL4) capabilities located on a U.S. university campus. The Surgical Innovation and Research Institute located at the Memorial Hermann has more than 5 robotic surgery equipment. The DaVinci surgical system is one of the newest advances in medical technology. Students will receive an induction to learn more about the DaVinci system and will have the opportunity to interact with the robot in addition to practicing with virtual simulators and skin samples emulating a real operation. |

What is the cancellation policy?
Both student and parents agree that any cancellation and request for refund must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected].

If the IMIRP gets cancelled by AEXA's fault students will be given the option to reschedule for a future IMIRP, a full refund will be issued.
In the case any activity or program gets cancelled due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions no refunds will be issued.

Travel Visa Support
- If needed, to acquire a USA travel VISA, AEXA will gladly provide you with a Letter of Invitation to this year's event.
- Please note, this does not guarantee you will be granted a travel VISA.
- AEXA does not send the letter of Invitation to any Embassy.
